I finally have a couple of pics of my new classroom! We are eight days into school, but I think this picture is an early photo before school actually started. I am still trying to figure out where I want everything. Open House is on Tuesday so I am getting ready for company and should have a picture of my functioning classroom soon!My dining room has been my classroom office while I patiently await the day I can move into my new room at my new school! Monday is the big day to start clearing out!!! Meanwhile I plan on being busy doing as much as I can at home. I love SchoolGirlStyle so I am emulating classroom decor that I love from her. My goal is my version of the scene below... calm and peaceful, yet full of outdoorsy interest! I have purchased polka dot paper, brown paper, ribbons, tissue, pre-made pom poms from Dress My Cupcake, Tweeting Birds from Creative Teaching Press, magnets, clips and things for hanging. Also purchased some cute polka dot letters for bulletin boards, binders for students and lime green book boxes. I'm on the hunt for Just getting my feet wet with my new blog! I have been attending technology professional development sessions so far to jump start my new year and be ready for all the goals I have set for myself. Check! I created a classroom website! I have also been busy reading up on my favorite teaching gurus, exploring my favorite pinterest sites and blogs, and gazing at my 22 years of junk/treasures piled into my dining room, basement, and garage I have lugged home from my old school. I am excited to begin creating my new "home" and am getting a few heart palpitations over the thought of having a short amount of time to do it! I have also been busy being a soccer mom, beginning my role as youth chairperson at church, going to family reunions, and hanging out with my mom while she is in town. Hmmm. The summer is short!
